Upcoming Show – Muse Winery

In mid-December, I will be the fibre artist component of a “group of seven” who will show their work at Muse Winery, in North Saanich, Vancouver Island. I am very delighted to have been asked to join this group. I hope you take some time to come sip some wine and check out the art on the weekend of December 10-11! Make a day of it: there is a great restaurant across the road: the Deep Cove Chalet.

Orcas Visit Saturna

Too stunning a show! The sound of them, amazing. You can hear them breathe, and slap the water, before you see their spout. Today’s cortège of orcas was stunning. Well over 60 of them swam by East Point, on Saturna, on their way across the Georgia strait. Impressive show, even the dogs were quiet… Click on each picture to blow it up… have a look. Fossil Hunting in BC

One of the highlights of an early summer road trip in BC: the MacAbee Fossil Beds near Cache Creek. On that hillside, with the help of a friendly guide, I rediscovered my inner child, hammering at rocks. Unfortunately, I only had an hour to spare – I had a ferry to catch. Still, I went home with a whole bag of fossils. I will definitely go back.

This is one of my finds! I have a whole assortment, sitting on a shelf near the dining room table. They remind me that time is passing by…

I am posting this, just because the contrast in the lines caught my eye… There is much work and clanging going on at the ferry terminal at Swarz Bay, Vancouver Island. The Fraser River Pile & Dredge Company is hard at work. I understand my father’s fascination with work sites much better now.
